We’re proud to launch our debut railtour, running on Saturday 1st November 2025 across the Netherlands. This enthusiast-focused journey will feature rare motive power and traverse routes that seldom see locomotive-hauled passenger trains.
'Boog' means 'curve' in Dutch.
We’re thrilled to be partnering with Railexperts, who will operate the train and supply the locomotives. They’re not just professional colleagues—they’re friends who share our passion for delivering high-quality, memorable experiences.
Traction will be provided by Railexperts. The main tour will be hauled by two locomotives from their pool of former NS Class 1600s or 1800. Additional locomotives will join throughout the day - A V60 diesel shunter supporting the visit to Amsterdam Westhaven, and a former Belgian Class 62 hauling the train to Moerdijk and Oosterhout Weststad.
Departing and returning to Amsterdam Centraal, the tour covers an extensive and complex route, including:
• Freight-only infrastructure at Amsterdam Westhaven and Houtrakpolder
• Rare curves and terminals such as Binkhorstboog, Westelijke Splitsing (the Rotterdam Centraal avoiding line), Moerdijk, and Oosterhout Weststad
• Mainline sections that no longer see regular loco-hauled passenger services, including the line through Alphen aan den Rijn between Woerden and Leiden Centraal.
The train will be formed primarily of classic compartment coaches, with a lounge car and a catering vehicle offering refreshments throughout the day.
Where operationally possible, we’ll include photo stops at interesting or unusual locations—giving you the chance to capture the train and its surroundings.
Catering will be provided by Railexperts, including a selection of hot and cold drinks and food available onboard.
